Superintendent
Reports to Operations Manager
Description
The role of the Superintendent is to work closely with the project management team in providing technical expertise and on-site management of all construction activities throughout the project. The Superintendent is responsible for implementing quality controls, enforcing safety controls, maintaining daily record keeping, and managing scheduling activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and interpretation of all plans, specifications, shop drawings and other construction documents for trade contractor coordination
- Layout of various building systems and inspection of trade contractor assemblies
- Coordinate with city inspectors, public officials, third-party testing and commissioning agents to ensure that facility is safe for public use and complies with all local codes and ordinances
- Work with Project Manager to generate RFIs and manage changes to the scope of work
- Conduct regular on-site coordination meetings for pre-planning of trade work and documenting safety work plans
- Maintain on-site records such as daily reports, photographs, as-builts, safety documentation, PCO reporting and quality control checklists
- Daily scheduling activities and coordination with trade contractors and project team in order to meet project deadlines
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experiences
- Minimum 5 years as a crew supervisor and/or assistant superintendent
- Proficient at reading and interpreting construction documents and subcontractor scopes of work
- Use of transit to evaluate grades and layout ground-up construction assemblies
- Demonstrates a professional knowledge of commercial construction trades
- Time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- OSHA 10-Hour
- Conducts themselves in a professional manner with our clients and associated guests, subcontractors, suppliers and our employees that represents the Coil brand
- Acceptable dress and appearance in accordance with the Coil employee handbook

- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities
- Ability to oversee and coordinate all of the activities of a construction site
- In-depth understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations
- Understand construction and budgeting best practices
- Solid analytical skills to collect and interpret data
- First aid/CPR training
- Forklift, skid loader and aerial lift training
- Commitment to improving skillset abilities and efforts toward advancement
